[CLOSED] Valentine's Hubba Hubba
Valentine's Day was shaping up to be a rather terrifying experience, in Yamato's opinion.
He had been aware of the little 'holiday' for several years, but it was usually something that happened in his peripheral, and never actually affected him in any meaningful way. It was usually only some gaudy posters and decorations, giggling girls and a bit more PDA than usual - the only encounter he had with it was when people would give out free chocolate to him sometimes. In short, Valentine's Day was like any other holiday: People celebrated it, but Yamato didn't, although sometimes he got presents and treats for no reason and that was okay.
This year, however...
Apparently the university was having a sort of 'event'. A 'hot guy/girl' vote, and rose giving. From Yamato's understanding, people paid one of the rose people to hand a flower to their 'Valentine', and those rose people took their duty very seriously indeed. Yamato knew this because he was currently hiding from several of them in the library.
Wasn't it rude to foist your affections on someone already taken/uninterested? Surely they must have had an opt-out post scheduled before the event, or something? Yamato had a lecture in twenty minutes, but it seemed he was doomed to miss it due to the rose sharks prowling the halls. He was not staying in the library until the end of the day to escape this madness!
Hm, maybe he could climb out of the window... it would be tricky with his bag, and they were two stories up, but you couldn't die from falling at that height. Maybe break a bone or two...
And so Yamato languished near an open library window, looking like he was ready to simply leap out of it to escape the Valentine madness.

[ If Yamato wants to take a leap of, um, faith, he could. There's nothing stopping him aside from the whole chance of injury and death thing! He'd just have to go through the young man who's suddenly making a quiet appearance through the windowsill. ]
Found you.
[ With that said, Hiro quickly maneuvers himself to sit on the windowsill, being extra careful not to hit his bag against anything in the process. After he's satisfied that he's not going to accidentally tip himself over the wrong side any time soon, he waves an arm in (late) greeting once, twice, before reaching down and holding on to the edge again for balance's sake.
...Perhaps he's been taking a few too many leaves out of a certain someone's book of stealthy greetings. ]

[Yamato was a bit startled by Hiro's abrupt appearance, although it only showed with a quick little blink. Why- it was Hiro. Yamato answered his question before he finished it]
...yes, you have.
[Yamato looked the other boy up and down, taking in his little crouch on the windowsill with an exasperated expression]
Hiro what... are you doing? There is a door.
no subject
[ What he left unsaid: "And funner". Provoking reactions out of people, especially those he likes teasing, never got old. ]
So what're you doing here?
[ While Hiro could make a pretty good educated guess based on today and all, he'd rather hear it straight from the source. Again, it's funner that way. ]
no subject
What does it look like? I've been driven to hiding in the library like a fugitive - to the point of nearly missing a lecture.
[Yamato checked his watch then. Oh, his lecture was starting, like, now. Great. Missed it]
...scratch that. Have missed a lecture.
no subject
[ Oh, Hiro feels bad for Yamato, really. But he won't deny to himself how absolutely hilarious he finds this turn of events. ]
At least they didn't chase you out of a class?
[ ...Probably? He can't say for sure that didn't happen. Barging through the door with a rose and a song certainly sounds like something the event planners would adore, more so with an audience to watch. ]
...Or did they?
no subject
...it was near the end of Pure Mathematics class...
no subject
...How many showed up?
[ He doubts just one person could make Yamato flee and miss a class in session, even if they were embarassing beyond all belief. Just how bad were they anyway? ]
no subject
[Yamato knew that some of them probably tagged along to see how he would react, or to 'put him in his place', since he knew his attitude rubbed a lot the wrong way. But still, urgh, it had been beyond mortifying]
But that doesn't matter. Until they're gone I'm trapped here. I refuse to go out and endure that type of humiliation for a second longer.
no subject
I thought they knew you like the library?
[ Read: If so, it's only a matter of time until they show up unannounced like Hiro earlier... ]
no subject
[A fact that Yamato was troubled over. If he left, he was an open target for those roaming the halls, yet if he stayed, they will come here sooner or later and corner him]
Which was why I had been contemplating climbing out of the window before you arrived.
no subject
[ So, apparently windows are the new doors now. Good to know. ]
Hmm...it could work out. On my way here, I didn't spot them on the prowl nearby.
[ And he's quite sure about that! Some of the rose people were after him too earlier, hence the whole sneaking around windows part... ]
no subject
...then I suppose we have no choice. Move over. I'm going to make my grand escape.
[Yamato's tone becomes a bit wry at this point - he's well aware of how ridiculous this entire situation is but, well, he was not going to be serenaded and assaulted by rose bearing lunatics without a fight]
no subject
Well, I'd rather not be a human rosebush, so I'll be escaping from the scene too. Let's go?
[ Right after Hiro says that, he does move...to jump out of the window. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. ]
no subject
Yamato does roll his eyes when his friend leaps out of the window like a lunatic, and moves over to the windowsill. He's probably fine, most likely, but that means Yamato himself has to jump too. He refused to clamber down clumsily!
After looking about himself to make sure no one could see him, he hauled himself up onto the windowsill, looked down to make sure the way was clear, adjusted his bag, and jumped.
He landed like a cat, crouching down to absorb the shock and throwing his hands out so he didn't topple forwards onto his face. That would've hurt]
Oof... mmn, well that wasn't too bad.
no subject
Anyway, while Yamato's jumping, Hiro's taking the time to stand up and nonchalantly straighten out his clothes. He's not too worried about Yamato hurting himself from the landing, since it's well, Yamato. Careless he is not.
Unsurprisingly, he's proven not wrong a moment after he thinks that. ]
Congratulations on not landing on your face.
[ At that, Hiro holds out a hand to him. ]
no subject
[Yamato gives him a narrowed look, but reached up and took Hiro's hand, letting himself be helped to his feet. He pulled away once he was standing, and brushed his hands down on his clothes, straightening out a crease here and there]
We should find a more secure hiding place.
no subject
Right. Let's start by moving away from anything that looks like a student could hide in. Somewhere student-repellant.
no subject
[Hey, they could barricade the doors and pull the blinds on the windows!]
no subject
[ Then they could just eat sweets or something until it blows over! ]
no subject
[Time off? What is that?]
no subject
No objections here. Shall we get going before they're on to us?
no subject
[And commence the powerwalking! Try to keep up with his long stride]
